Rich Brian has just dropped a new short film and announced a North American tour to boot. The rapper behind the viral hit “Dat Stick” premiered a 15-minute clip called The Sailor, meant to be paired with his album of the same name.

The Indonesia-born rapper will keep The Sailor tour brief, dropping in on October 7 for a show at New York’s Terminal 5 and dipping out after an October 20 show at Portland’s Roseland Theater.

In between, Brian will hop back and forth between Canada and the US, playing the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver and Philly’s Theater of the Living Arts, among others.

Both versions of The Sailor explore what it means to be an immigrant. Brian revealed that the album focuses on the idea of people who are unafraid to take massive risks, like moving across the world. Short film director Sing J. Lee explained his vision for the short film:

“I wanted to write something that explored this very idea of home. His words reminded me of my own. As immigrants, the spaces we call our home is questioned and defined by others,” he said. “However, home is in the heart and mind. Home exists wherever there is love. Love for every experience that makes you who you are. That’s the poem in this film.”
