After a few teasers, it’s official—UK shoegaze outfit Ride has officially announced a reunion tour for next year. It’s the band’s first tour since disbanding in 1996. Only nine dates have been announced so far, with things starting off on May 22 at Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow. Next, Ride will head to Manchester, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Toronto, and New York City (at Terminal 5). If these dates are successful, we’re willing to be that more dates will be added, and could some brand new music not be far behind? For more information on dates, ticketing, and onsale times, visit Ride’s website.

Formed in Oxford, England in 1988, Ride is comprised of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence “Loz” Colbert, and Steve Queralt. A part of the “shoegazing” band scene of the early 1990s, Ride broke up in 1996, with each member going on to other solo and group projects (Bell became the bassist for Oasis). Their single, “Vapour Trail” (which you can watch below), was voted onto Pitchfork’s Top 200 Tracks of the 90s.
