Rihanna Embarks on her Diamonds World Tour
UPDATE: New Zealand
Although she’s had to cancel her most recent U.S. dates due to illness, that’s not stopping RiRi from future plans. The singer has just announced that she’ll be taking her Diamonds World Tour all the way to New Zealand this fall. The six-time Grammy winner will touch down in NZ on October 6, with a performance in Auckland at the Vector Arena. This comes after her Australian romp, which begins on September 24 when she performs at the Perth Arena, followed by a gig at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. She’ll also make stops in Brisbane and Melbourne, before wrapping things up on October 3 at the Allphones Arena in Sydney.

UPDATE: Glastonbury?
Joining The Rolling Stones as rumored headliners at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, Rihanna is apparently in talks to close the festival on the Pyramid Stage on June 30. She would join Beyonce, who did the same thing back in 2011.
The festival is set for June 26 through June 30 at Worthy Farm in the small town of Somerset, England.
According to NME, Rihanna in the past has stated, “I have heard so many things about what happens there. I love rock music. I love Kings Of Leon and The Prodigy. The music is awesome. I like the more traditional rock bands, too – Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. I think I could rock Glastonbury, no question.”

UPDATE: Heineken Open’er Festival
With plans to perform as part of the Heineken Open’er Festival this coming July in Poland, Rihanna revealed some cool news for fans who happen to have bought four-day passes to the entire event.
The pop superstar, who will tour extensively in 2013 in support of her latest album Unapologetic, announced that she would perform a bonus gig for people who have four-day festival tickets on July 7. Those tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website.
In other news, the artist is also expanding beyond music and film and launching a clothing line. Her fashion collection will debut during London Fashion Week on February 16 and will be in stores and online on March 5.
UPDATE: Late January 2013
Rihanna is officially set to embark on her 2013 Diamonds World Tour (diamonds not included). The full list of U.S. and European dates has been released, and, as previously discussed Rihanna will get the party started at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY. From there, she’ll travel across the United States and Canada, before ending up in BROOKLYN (we go hard) for two nights at the Barclays Center. Swag. Then it’s off to Europe, where she’ll play shows in France and England with David Guetta. While in America, expect to see fresh, young, A$AP Rocky opening for the pop princess.

Despite having coped a feel at the VMAs (caught on camera here!) A$AP insists that their relationship is all business: “Believe it or not, that’s just the homey,” he told MTV’s RapFix, “I can’t wait to see how her fans react to me and her working together and going on tour. That’s gonna be fun.” Yeah it is! Check out some videos of the RiRi to get hyped and buy tickets while you still can!

UPDATE
With Rihanna set to kick off her Diamonds World Tour on March 8 in Buffalo at the First Niagara Center, comes news that the pop superstar will perform in advance of her tour at the 2013 Grammy Awards on February 10.
Rihanna herself has two nominations in the bag this year, so the night will be a huge night for her if she takes home some victories. Joining her on the performance lineup are The Black Keys, Taylor Swift, fun. and Mumford & Sons.
On the bad news front, as we have mentioned before Rihanna appeared in the big budget Battleship movie this summer and just received a nomination for an award, but that nomination was for the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress. Not the best start to a movie career.
UPDATE
Fresh off her performance during the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on CBS (see video below), Rihanna revealed plans to headline one of the biggest festivals in the United Kingdom, T In The Park. The 20th anniversary of the annual Scottish festival is set to take place this year from July 12 through July 14. The festival, which brings in over 85,000 fans each year, has also announced The Killers, Mumford & Sons, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, Paloma Faith, Of Monsters & Men, The Script and Two Door Cinema Club as performers on the bill.
Tickets go on sale this coming Friday December 7 and the best deals on all T In The Park tickets and Rihanna tickets can be found right here at SeatGeek.

UPDATE
The unflagging Rihanna has rebounded from some fairly scathing reports following her 777 promo tour this past month, announcing yet another project in the works. Ri will follow in the stilettoed footsteps of divas Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera, and Mariah Carey, attaching her name to a reality show set to air sometime in 2013. “Styled to Rock,” premiering on the Style network, is the American version of a British show that enlists unknowns to style celebrities. Rihanna cameoed on the UK hit this summer, and has been chosen to handpick the 12 contestants who’ll vie to win superstar favor on the US iteration. She’s been given the title of executive producer, however, and not host. No word yet on who might fill that coveted role, but we’ll keep you posted on Ri’s latest development as more details emerge!

UPDATE
Another round of tour dates has been announced, with Rihanna scheduled to play a series of European shows next summer. We’ve got the full list of international stops as it stands now, and be sure to keep scrolling for our list of discounted ticket links!
UPDATE 11/16/2012
Rihanna’s taken the Unapologetic theme of her new album (set to drop in three days!) to her heart on her latest track, the leaked “Nobody’s Business” collaboration with Chris Brown. You can check out the song via B. Scott here – it’s certainly less risque than some of her previous work, though sure to generate its share of controversy.
UPDATE 11/9/2012
The music video for Rihanna’s new single, “Diamonds,” off her forthcoming Unapologetic album, has just been released. Not much of a plot here, but lots of ethereal images of water, smoke, horse flanks, etc. Take a peek at Ri’s latest effort below:

UPDATE 11/7/2012
Rihanna has announced an opening act for her upcoming Diamonds World Tour: A$AP Rocky. The rapper will accompany the pop diva for the duration of her tour’s North American leg (March 8 – May 5). No word yet on any other high-profile cameos, but be sure to check back here for all Rihanna updates – and ticket links!
UPDATE 10/11/2012
Rihanna has revealed the title and cover art for her new album, with the latter seeing the pop queen looking less regal than… really pissed. Unapologetic drops November 19.

Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour will mark the fifth time the singer has showcased her wealth of talents with a live concert series, following in the nimble footsteps of 2011’s LOUD Tour and 2010-2011’s Last Girl on Earth Tour. The recent VMA queen has been a pop mainstay ever since her debut single, “Pon De Replay,” lit up the charts back in 2005, enjoying a reputation for racking up style points and record sales with equal abundance.
