Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas has just completed a world tour with the band that made him famous to support their album, North, and now he’s setting out on his own. Thomas will be launching a month-long North American solo trek this spring, kicking things off in Temecula, CA at Pechanga Theatre and moving through Las Vegas, NV; Indio, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Austin, TX; Salina, KS; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Huntington, NY; and Bethlehem, PA, to name a few. Thomas also announced that his Indio, CA show at Fantasy Springs Resort on April 5 will benefit the Sidewalk Angels Foundation, a non-profit run by his wife, Marisol. Rob Thomas got his start as the primary songwriter and lead singer of Matchbox Twenty, beginning his solo career after ten years with the band. His debut solo album, …Something to Be, went straight to the top of the charts with single “Lonely No More” fueling its selling fire. He earned three Grammy awards for co-writing and singing on the Carlos Santana track “Smooth” in 1998, and in 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame granted Thomas a Starlight Award, recognizing young songwriters who have already had an effect on the music industry.
