Grateful Dead’s Robert Hunter Announces Fall Tour
Robert Hunter Tour
Robert Hunter, singer/songwriter, and lyricist for The Grateful Dead, has announced an eight-date fall tour starting this September. Hunter, who has also written songs for artists like Bob Dylan, Bruce Hornsby, and Jim Lauderdale, will be playing his first solo shows in nearly a decade. The tour will primarily focus on the northeast, making stops at classic rock venues like Keswick Theatre, located outside of Philadelphia, and Town Hall, located in the heart of New York City.

Hunter became associated with The Dead after befriending Jerry Garcia at an early age. He was a “non-performing” member of the band for decades, eventually becoming the only non-performing artist in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, having been inducted with The Grateful Dead. Hunter’s live shows have primarily consisted of classic Grateful Dead tracks, combined with selections from his own personal catalog of songs. Need a refresher on The Dead?
