Rolling Stones Zip Code Tour Setlist Rumors
To coincide with the rerelease of their seminal Sticky Fingers album, many believe that the band will perform the album in its entirety on tour.
Rolling Stones “50 and Counting” Tour Dates
After much debate and speculation, The Rolling Stones have finally announced official dates for their summer tour. Titled “50 and Counting,” the tour will see the iconic rock n’ roll band playing only nine North American dates… but who’s counting? It kicks off on May 5 in Oakland, CA, at the Oracle Arena, followed by a stint at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. May 25 marks their performance in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, followed by a show in Chicago, IL, at the United Center and a gig at the TD Garden in Boston. The shows wrap up with a June 18 show in Philly at the Wells Fargo Center. Sorry, New York fans – you had your fill of the Stones when they spoiled you at Barclays Center last year. After the North American dates wrap, the band will head over to the UK for their Glastonbury appearance, followed by a July 6 show at London’s Hyde Park.
Rolling Stones Tour Rumors
Through the clever use of billboards with their signature Rolling Stones’ kissy face icon, the band has been not-so-subtly hinting that official dates for their 2013 tour will be announced this Wednesday. Currently, no specific dates have been locked down yet, as of last week The Rolling Stones have finally chosen a promoter for their upcoming North American arena tour. The rockers will go with AEG Live, who allegedly made a “real crazy offer” to outbid the competition. Said tour will include 18 dates, and according to “a source close to the band” (as reported by Rolling Stone) is set to kick off on May 2. Seems to be an awfully close start date considering tickets haven’t go on sale and nothing has actually been confirmed. But if anybody can pull it off, the Stones can. They will reportedly earn $4-5 million per show – which means top tickets could end up costing folks $500 – $600 a pop! Would you pay that much to see these fossils icons?
Rolling Stones Glastonbury Festival
It was announced earlier this week that The Rolling Stones will perform at the UK’s massive Glastonbury Festival. They’ll be one of three headlining acts, which also includes Elvis Costello and Mumford & Sons. Upon news of the summer plans, guitarist Keith Richards made a statement: “We all had such a ball last year, and the energy between the band is so good, we can’t wait to play Glastonbury, see you on a summer’s day in England.” The announcement shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans, as earlier in the year Jagger alluded to the possibility in an interview with NME: “There are other things in the world, you know, apart from Glastonbury! But then again, Glastonbury is very important. It seems to be very important to my children – highlight of their year! … But is it going to be rainy on the Sunday? Isn’t it nearly always rainy on the Sunday?” Oh well, guess we’ll have to invest in some wellies.
