Sebadoh Won’t Cross An “Ocean” For Their Fall Tour
Get excited, fans! American indie rock gods Sebadoh are set to release their first new album in 13 years, entitled Defend Yourself, via Joyful Noise Recordings on September 17. While you can stream the first single, “I Will,” online, the band has announced a little something better: Sebadoh is holding a series of listening parties at 11 stores around the country this Saturday, August 17 (see the list below for further details in your town). After listening, the test pressings (autographed, by the way), will be given away by the band, so you’ve got your chance to get some pretty sweet swag. And there’s one more part to sweeten the deal: Sebadoh has also announced a short tour, to take place, this November. The tour kicks off November 1 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, and it includes dates in Philadelphia, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and more. Tickets are on sale now!
Sebadoh began as a side project of Dinosaur, Jr. bassist Lou Barlow and multi-instrumentalist Eric Gaffney. Adding Jason Loewenstein to the mix, the band helped (along with Pavement and Guided by Voices) to pioneer the lo-fi music sound.
