We’ve heard very little from Selena Gomez since her health issues forced her to cancel the Revival tour all the way back in 2016. Beyond the occasional EDM collab, the last three years have been uncharacteristically silent for the one-time Disney star and pop chart-topper.

All that will change this week. A series of gradually less cryptic Instagram posts confirmed that new music is on the way, coming on October 23.

As Elle Magazine points out, Gomez has been done with the new album since at least June. She told Jimmy Fallon during a visit to the Tonight Show that her extended hiatus was largely due to needing to get comfortable with the way the album presented her story from the interceding years.

“It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that ‘how was I going to capture that?’ and ‘how was I actually going to feel good about what I was saying?’ So I just kept going, and I’m relieved,” she said.

While Gomez said that the album plays with electric guitar and soul more than her previous efforts, it’s still the pop music her fans have come to expect.

With new music absolutely in the cards, the question remains: will Gomez go on tour for the first time in years? Given her previous complications from touring with lupus, it might not come in the form of the mega-sized, worldwide tours that other pop elites mount. If Gomez is up to it, however, there might be an arena tour in the near future.

Keep an eye on this space to know as soon as Gomez’s next tour is announced.
