Simon Posford Will Take Shpongle on the Road in Early ’14
Shpongle “Museum of Consciousness” Tour
We recently announced that the Shpongle Live Band would be giving a rare performance at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre next May. Unfortunately, it seems a full-blown tour is out of the question, as Simon Posford has just announced a solo Shpongle jaunt slated for the spring. Dubbed the “Museum of Consciousness” tour, this particular run of shows will feature the Shpongletron 3: a “visual feast” that includes image mapping, LED infinity mirrors and all the trippyness that will knock the 250-pound dude next to you on his ass. Actually, it was probably the acid that did that.

The massive tour kicks off on February 12 at Boston’s House of Blues (or what Boston music fans refer to as the House of Rules), and runs through April 5 with a finale show in Philly at the Electric Factory. In between, Posford will take his Shpongletron throughout the entire country, with gigs slated from Austin to Asheville, Houston to Seattle, St. Petersburg to Pittsburgh. March 8 to March 14 will be spent traversing the California coast, followed by performances in Portland and Seattle. While making his way back to the East Coast for the tour’s end, Shpongle will have Midwest stops, including Omaha, Madison and Chicago.
