Veterans of the rock industry who will always be remembered for the starry heights they once occupied, the resurgent Smashing Pumpkins have announced five tour dates for this winter. Supporting the release of their new album, Monuments to an Elegy, Billy Corgan and crew are planning a record release blitz with a couple of supporting artists making more than just a cameo on behalf of their well-known bands. Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine will be on drums and Mark Stoermer from The Killers brings his bass to the international concert lineup that will also include a live show on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The tour will make three stops in Europe and land in New York before the new Smashing Pumpkins album hits shelves December 9. After those shows in Berlin, Paris and London, this new patch of Pumpkins will play Webster Hall December 8 in NYC before flying to Los Angeles for KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas at The Forum on December 14. This whirlwind promotional tour could only be the tip of the iceberg for upcoming Smashing Pumpkins concerts; check back with SeatGeek for more details if they plan a full US tour in 2015.
