St. Paul and the Broken Bones Reveal Extensive Fall Tour
2014 has been a great year (so far) for powerhouse soul group (and buzzed-about band) St. Paul and the Broken Bones. The Birmingham-based group just appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and they’ve just announced plans for an extensive North American fall tour. They’ll kick off their shows in Chattanooga, TN at Track 29 on September 18, and then visit Bristol, TN (at the Bristol Rhythm & Blues Festival); Nashville, TN (opening for Jason Isbell at the famed Ryman Auditorium); Cincinnati, OH; Memphis, TN; Columbia, MO; Charleston, SC; Washington, DC; Boston, MA; Charlottesville, VA; Chicago, IL; Las Vegas, NV; Detroit, MI; Akron, OH; Toronto, ON; and Birmingham, AL (among others). They’ll finish up their tour at the Bear Creek Festival in Live Oak, FL on November 16. For more ticketing information, visit the group’s website.
Comprised of vocalist Paul Janeway, guitarist Browan Lollar, bassist Jesse Phillips, drummer Andrew Lee, keyboardist Al Gamble, trombonist Ben Griner, and trumpet player Allen Branstetter, St. Paul and the Broken Bones formed in Birmingham, AL in 2012. Fun fact: the band recorded their first EP, Greetings from St. Paul and the Broken Bones before ever playing a live show together. Their debut album, Half the City, was critically acclaimed by publications such as Paste, Rolling Stone, and even NPR and reached No. 3 on the iTunes Top Albums charts.
