Status Quo is famous for their very own brand of rock & roll freakbeat music, characterized by strong, direct drum beats; loud, frenzied guitar riffs; and extreme effects like flanging, distortion, or compression. Formed as The Spectres in 1962, Status Quo has had over 60 chart hits in the United Kingdom (more than any other rock group, FYI), including 22 No. 1s. They received an honorary Brit Awards in 1991 for their ongoing contribution to British music.
