Oxford Boys Stornoway Announce New Tour and Sophomore Album
Ah, Stornoway: everybody’s favorite Scottish town, located on the Isle of Lewis. With a population of 9,000, it’s the largest settlement in the Western Isles. PSYCH! We’re actually talking about Stornoway, the alt/indie/folk band from England. The four-piece band has just announced that they will tour the United Kingdom next year in support of a new album, due out on March 11. The shows span the majority of February and March, and kick off on February 8, at the Bridge Trades Club in Hebden. They’ll also spend Valentine’s Day and the following evening playing in their hometown of Oxford at Town Hall. The tour wraps up on March 27, with a show at London’s Forum.
In honor of the new album, Tales From Terra Firma, the band will also be performing their new material on the roof of London’s Southbank Centre in December, as part of the “Sounds From A Room” series. After Stornoway’s debut album, Beachcomber’s Windowsill, peaked at No. 3 on the UK Indie Chart in 2010, critics and fans are waiting with baited breath to see what their sophomore effort will bring.
