Colorado-based jam band the String Cheese Incident have just announced their annual winter tour dates and details, or “Winter Carnival Tour” as their fans have come to know it. They’ll kick off the run with a two-night stint at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle from January 16 to 17. After that it’s on to Eugene, OR, where they’ll play the McDonald Theatre from January 18 to 19, followed by shows at Boise’s Knitting Factory on January 21 and 22 and then the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno on January 23 and 24. They’ll play Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom on January 29 and 31, before closing out the tour with three back-to-back shows from February 13 to 15 at the Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.

Formed in the early 90s, the String Cheese Incident gained a following in the jam band scene thanks to their intensive touring schedule and unique sound, which mixes everything from bluegrass and rock to jazz and reggae. They’re also known for their elaborate live shows, often referred to as “incidents.” Since they’re formation they’ve released six studio albums and two live albums. The String Cheese Incident is comprised of Bill Nershi, Michael Kang, Michael Travis, Keith Moseley, Kyle Hollingsworth, and Jason Hann.
