One of the hardest working guys in hip-hop is going to be working just a little bit harder. Tech N9ne, who JUST wrapped his “Band of Psychos” tour (which featured the “Dysfunctional” rapper backed by a live band) has surprised everyone by announcing that he’ll be embarking on a last-minute, nine-show tour. The “Tech N9ne Live 2014” tour will kick off at the Rave in Milwaukee on November 20. From there, it’s onto to shows in Joliet, IL, Saint Paul, ME, and Lincoln, NE. He’ll pay the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield, MO, on December 5, followed by the Granada in Lawrence, KS, on December 6, Oklahoma’s Diamond Ballroom on December 11 and the Gas Monkey Bar N Grill in Dallas on December 12. Tech N9ne will finish up at the Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita, KS on December 13.
Born Aaron Yates and originally hailing from Kansas City, Tech N9ne started his career in the early 90s as a member of various rap groups. His stage name originally referred to his quick rhyming rap style, like that of the TEC-9 handgun, but has since been reassessed to reference his rhyming “technique” and a number (“nine”) of completion. After co-founding the label Strange Music and releasing his first solo album, Tech N9ne began gaining success and a following as an underground rapper. He’s since been immensely prolific, releasing over a dozen solo album, guesting on numerous other artists’ tracks, and toured intensively. His music has also appeared in wide variety of TV shows, movies, and video games.
