Rocker Ted Nugent’s recent time in the spotlight has been more for his political views than his music, and, thankfully, that’s all about to change. He’s just announced plans for a new tour, to be called “Shut Up & Jam!” The tour will kick off on the very patriotic (like Nugent himself, natch) weekend of July 3 at the Wichita Falls Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls, TX, and then continue through Oklahoma City, OK; Detroit, MI; Oshkosh, WI; Kansas City, MO; Sheridan, WY; Maumee, OH; Stugis, SD; Morgantown, WV; and more, with a final date at the Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, MS on August 15. Sets on the tour will include a mix of Nugent’s greatest hits (“Cat Scratch Fever,” anyone?) along with tunes from his upcoming album. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.

Born in Detroit, MI, Ted Nugent came to fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band The Amboy Dukes before embarking on a successful solo career. His big hits in the 1970s include “Stranglehold,” “Wango Tango,” and “Great White Buffalo”. Besides his career as a rocker, Nugent is also known for his collection of authored books, staunch conservative views, and anti-gun control activism.
