Quite the warmup for their upcoming tour, set to kick off April 28 in Kansas City at the Sprint Center. In between thr Grammy performance and the start of the tour, the boys from Akron will play Lollapalooza on March 30 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Black Keys Flaming Lips Tour
In one of the most exciting pairings in recent indie-rock history, The Black Keys and The Flaming Lips will hit the road together for a short run of shows this spring. How short? Real short: four shows taking place over the last few days of April into the first few days of May. It kicks off on April 28, with a performance in Kansas City, MO, at the Sprint Center, followed by a gig at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Also on the docket is a stop in Atlanta, GA, at Aaron’s Amphitheater at Lakewood, and the final show of the tour on May 3, in Nashville, TN, at Bridgestone Arena.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, The Black Keys are a wildly successful indie rock band that have been nominated for six Grammys in the last two years (three of which they won). And The Flaming Lips, led by that whacky Wayne Coyne, have been gently massaging the ears of spacey electronic rock/pop fans since ’83. Their latest album, The Terror, is due out later this year. Check out this mashup of indie awesomeness when they tour together this spring!
