Goth-Rock Icons The Cure Make Their Triumphant Return to South America
The Cure Tour
Eighties icons The Cure have announced South American tour dates slated for April. The goth-rock-pop-punk (if such a combination can exist) outfit will hit up venues in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, marking their first performances in the area since 1987! According to a statement released by the band, they are deliriously happy to be coming back to South America and fans can expect them to play 3+ hour shows: “[We] have every intention of making this the most memorable Cure Tour ever!” Tickets for the Santiago, CH, dates went on sale January 1.

The seven-date stint kicks off on April 4 with a performance in Rio de Janeiro, BR, at the HSBC Arena. After that it’s off to the wild and crazy Sao Paulo where the group will play at Morumbi, followed by a gig in Asuncion, PY, at Jockey Club. Also on the docket are stops in Buenos Aires, AR, Santiago, CL, and Lima, PE. On April 19, The Cure will perform in Bogota, CO, at Simon Bolivar Park, before wrapping things up on April 21 in Mexico City, MX, at Foro Sol. My only question is: Won’t Robert Smith be hot in all those layers?
