New UK Tour, New Album – The Fratellis Are Back!

The Fratellis have been confirmed on the bill of this year’s V Festival. Held annually in the United Kingdom, the festival takes place at two parks simultaneously and share the same bill – those parks being Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. Bands and artists perform at one location on Saturday and then swap on Sunday.
Set to take place August 17 and August 18, the festival dates will come a few months after the band’s UK tour in April.
Other acts on the bill include the headliners, Beyonce and Kings of Leon, Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines, Emeli Sandé, Jason Mraz, Fun., Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar and many more.

Scottish rockers The Fratellis are gearing up for a stint across the United Kingdom, slated for April of next year. The tour comes after the announcement that the band has returned from their two-year hiatus, and are currently recording a follow-up album to 2008’s Here We Stand. Of the new record, front-end Jon Fratelli has said, “We’ve not changed in any way that is going to challenge people too much… You do enough to keep them motivated and interested.” Considering their last effort peaked at No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Gold, I’d say this is a smart move.

The seven-date jaunt will kick off on April 11, in London, at the Electric Ballroom. After that they’ll perform in Birmingham at the HMV Institute, before playing a gig in Manchester at the HMV Ritz. April 15 marks the beginning of a their performances at various O2 Academies, including the Bristol, Newcastle and Liverpool establishments.
