The Greyboy Allstars Tour

The Greyboy Allstars, a San Diego-based funk/jazz ensemble, have just announced some exciting news. The band, who haven’t released an album since 2007’s What Happened to Television, will debut Inland Emperor on April 16 via Sci Fidelity records. Of course, no album announcement is complete without coinciding tour dates, and lucky for us the Greyboy’s have complied. So far it’s somewhat of a short run, but the band has confirmed that they’ll announce additional dates at a later time. They’ve also announced that joining them for their April 26 Nola date is funky jammers Earphunk.

As it stands, the tour kicks off on April 4 in Cambridge, MA, at The Sinclair, followed by a two-night run at NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl (bowling + booze + funk = heaven). From there they’ll shoot over to the West Coast, playing shows in Colorado and Los Angeles. On April 19, catch them in the Windy City for a performance at the Congress Theatre. The tour comes to a conclusion with a May 10 & 11 stint in San Francisco, CA, at The Independent. If there’s any city that can enjoy the acid-jazz stylings of The Greyboy Allstars, it’s gotta’ be San Fran. While you’ll have to wait a few months to hear the album in its entirety, check out a live version of their new single, “Profundo Grosso,” below.
