The Hold Steady have just announced they’re adding a US leg this summer to their already in progress tour in support of their most-recent album Teeth Dreams. The guys are currently playing in the UK, but land stateside June 10 in Tampa. From there, they’ll head North — highlights include shows in Atlanta, Montreal and Milwaukee’s Summerfest.  After playing the Concord Music Hall in Chicago on July 2, they will make their way West through the middle of the country and eventually play in Portland, OR on July 17.  They’ll play a couple shows in the Pacific Northwest and North California, then duck back East to play the XPoNential Festival in Camden, NJ, on July 25 and the Interstellar Rodeo in Edmonton, Canada on July27 and then play southern California and head onto Las Vegas, Phoenix, El Paso and Santa Fe. After a couple more show in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, they’ll finish up at the Midway Stadium in St. Paul, MN, on September 13.

Although formed and based in Brooklyn, The Hold Steady is a band with close ties to Minneapolis, the hometown of some of its core members and the setting for many of their music’s lyrical storytelling. The band has been favorite with a critics practically from their debut album, 2004’s Almost Killed Me, and began crossing over to mainstream success with their 2006 album Boy and Girls in America. The Hold Steady has often been praised for their live shows and is considered one of the guaranteed best live-performance groups in rock today.
