Rock duo with the wonderfully bizarre name The King Khan & BBQ Show (try to top that), have revealed their plans for a spring tour. The good times have already begun, as KK & BBQ performed their first gig last night, at NYC’s Santos Party House. Luckily for their fans, however, the pair have booked a host of gigs through the end of the month, so you still have 13 more chances to catch them live. Upcoming stops include those in Maryland, California, Georgia, and Texas, along with another NYC show slated for tomorrow night, 4/13, at Glasslands.

Although typically referred to as a “grunge-rock” group, it’s hard to pin The King Khan and BBQ Show to any one genre, mixing as they do psych rock, r&b and doo-wop into a melange of awesomeness. The critically acclaimed band have toured the world over, and once received a personal invitation from Lou Reed himself to perform at the Sydney Opera House. They briefly broke up in 2010, but soon patched things up and were back in the studio by 2011.
