British jazz-fusioners and touring veterans The New Mastersounds have just revealed their first tour dates for the New Year. At the moment, the guys are about to start a run through New England, kicking things off at the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH, on November 4. They’ll eventually make their way though upstate New York, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina, and Florida. They’ll play a New Year’s Eve show at the Joy Theater in New Orleans, followed by a two-night stint at Miami’s Grand Central. After that, the groups will head into the studio to begin recording a new album, but will return to the stage on January 23 with a show at the Pink Garter Theatre in Jackson, WY. They’ll play a series of shows throughout California for most of January and eventually land the Crown Room at the Crystal Bay Club in Crystal Bay, NV on January 31. They’ll play the State Room in Salt Lake City on February 3, which they’ll follow with a run through Colorado, and then a performance at Tucson’s Gem & Jam Festival on February 8.

Known for their funk-influenced sound, The New Mastersounds are a familiar presence in the European jazz scene. Since first forming in the late 90s, the group has released two-dozen singles and over a dozen different albums. Their current lineup consists of guitarist Eddie Roberts, drummer Simon Allen, bassist Pete Shand, and keyboardist Joe Tatton.
