UPDATE: Sonar Festival

Pet Shop Boys, who are scheduled for four headlining gigs across Europe this coming June (see below for details), have revealed their plans to be one of the headlining acts as part of the 2013 edition of the Sonar Festival.

Set to take place June 14 through June 16 in Barcelona, Spain, the Sonar Festival is a huge event, drawing over 80,000 attendees over the course of three days, all of whom set out to enjoy the best in international music and art, with a heavy emphasis on the tunes.

Pet Shop Boys will join Skrillex, Two Door Cinema Club and Kraftwerk as the biggest names on the bill for the festival.

UPDATE: New Tour Dates

The Pet Shop Boys revealed a series of four more tour dates for their upcoming global tour. It appears that the confirmed gigs are going to trickle in on a piece meal basis as the dates for only the United Kingdom (London and Manchester) gigs as well as Paris and Barcelona had been announced.

The new tour dates are as follows: June 5 in Moscow at Crocus Hall; July 1 in Dortmund, Germany as part of Dortmund Music Week; July 9 in Freiburg, Germany at the ZMF Festival and July 10 in Munich as part of the Tollwood Festival.

The Pet Shops Boys, the electronic dance music duo from London who have sold over 50 million albums worldwide and have been nominated for six Grammy Awards, revealed early plans for their 2013 “Electric” tour. The dates announced take place in their hometown of London June 18 at The O2 London and then on June 20 at Manchester Arena.

The band also revealed that dates for the rest of Europe, the Americas and Japan will be announced shortly. The tour will apparently be the group’s first new live stage production since the “Pandemonium” tour in 2009.
