The Postal Service Tour 2013

I’d heard of The Postal Service before they were on the Garden State soundtrack. And I listened to Rilo Kiley when Take Offs and Landings was their only album. So you could really say that I was six years ahead of the curve, because now they’re going on tour together. Ben Gibbard (who came out and played when I saw Bright Eyes on the Cassadega tour. Yes, I definitely peaked in coolness at age 16, sigh.) will be accompanied, as usual, by Jimmy Tamborello, with additional support coming from Lewis and Laura Burhenn.

Though I definitely don’t remember them being this popular when I was 15 and sad, apparently The Postal Service is big enough to play Coachella and the Barclays Center. Maybe all the sad 15-year-olds have grown up and can afford stadium tickets. Or better yet, maybe all the formerly sad 15-year olds are now single 20-somethings who you can meet at the concert and then have a casual Postal Service-centric relationship, because isn’t the point of having a boyfriend being able to cuddle in bed while listening to The Postal Service together?
