The Thermals Announce Spring Tour Dates
Update 3/28/13
The Thermals, a trio who hail from the Pacific-Northwest, have announced a spring tour which will kick off in their hometown of Portland, OR. The tour will coincide with the release of their new album, Desperate Ground. The album, which features the single “Born to Kill,” will be released on April 17, while the shows kick of three days later. Most of the concerts will be in the US, but three of the 20 stops will give the group’s Canadian fans an opportunity to see them live.

The Thermals Tour
There are big things poppin’ for Portland punks The Thermals. The trio just announced that their first three albums will be reissued by Sub Pop Records, and will be available on limited edition colored vinyl on March 5. The band have also announced a string of tour dates for March, which kicks off on the first in San Francisco, CA, at Noise Pop Festival. On March 7, they’ll hit up the West Coast with a performance at 285 Kent in Brooklyn, NY, followed by a gig in Hoboken, NJ, at Maxwell’s. The Thermals are also slated to perform at SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.
Besides album re-releases and new tour dates, The Thermals have been hard at work on a new LP, which they plan to release sometime this year. According to a press release, the band described the upcoming music as, “loud, fast, incredibly scary and undeniably catchy.” John Agnello – who has worked with the likes of Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth – has lent his production expertise to the record.
