The Weeknd Hits the Road with Schoolboy Q on ‘King of Fall Tour’
The Weeknd’s been quiet as of late, but that all changed this past Tuesday (June 24), when his first original composition of 2014 hit the Internet. “Often” is sultry and seductive (like most The Weeknd tunes), and everyone already digs it. Now, he’s heading out on a very short tour this fall to keep the magic alive. Dubbed the “King of Fall Tour”, The Weeknd is heading out with Schoolboy Q and Jhene Aiko starting on September 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Next, they’ll play the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON on September 21, followed by the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on October 9 and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on October 10 in San Francisco. Ticketing information and on-sale dates and times can be found on The Weeknd’s website.
Abel Tesfaye got his start as a record producer, but things changed in 2010—that’s when he anonymously uploaded songs to YouTube under pseudonym The Weeknd. He released three critically acclaimed mixtapes the following year, and this debut studio album, Kiss Land hit shelves in 2013. MTV’s John Norris dubbed Tesfaye “the songbird of his generation” and “the best musical talent since Michael Jackson.” High praise.
