Thievery Corporation–a band whose sound can not be categorized in a 200-word blog post–has announced three back-to-back shows slated for December. The first two will take place in New York City at Webster Hall on December 18 and 19. The third will bring the group back to their hometown of D.C. for a performance at Lincoln Theatre. Tickets for that show are already going for around $100 on the secondary market.

Thievery Corporation has been around since 1995, making a name for themselves through their unique sound which incorporates elements of lounge, bossa nova, electronic and jazz. They released their 18th album earlier this year, Saudade, which marks the band’s return to their original bossa nova sound, and is less political than their more recent records.
