Soulive to Return to Brooklyn Bowl This March
A tradition since 2010, Soulive will return to New York City’s Brooklyn Bowl for their fifth annual Bowlive residency. Spanning March 13-15 and March 18-22, a number of special guests for the shows have been announced, and they include The Shady Horns, Nigel Hall, George Porter, Jr., John Scofield, DMC, Joe Russo, Jon Cleary, Bill Evans, Leroy Justice, The London Souls, Marco Benevento, Wolf!, and more. Don’t see anything you like (which is highly unlikely)? More special guests are sure to be announced in the coming weeks. Passes for all eight nights, as well as individual tickets, are on sale now.
Formed in Woodstock, NY, Soulive consists of Eric Krasno, Alan Evans, and Neal Evans. The band is known for its extensive improvisational solos and catchy, upbeat songs. They’ve released a whopping fourteen albums since 1999, including 1999’s Get Down!; 1999’s Turn It Out; 2001’s Doin’ Something; 2002’s Next; 2007’s No Place Like Soul; 2009’s Up Here; 2009’s Live in San Francisco; and 2005’s Steady Groovin’. Soulive has performed at a variety of festivals since their inception, including the Newport Folk Festival.
