Trampled by Turtles Bringing ‘Wild Animals’ to Terminal 5
Trampled by Turtles, on the heels of releasing their seventh studio album Wild Animals in July, is bringing their evolving bluegrass indie-funk back to New York City for a show at Terminal 5 on September 12. The band, infused with a fervent stage presence that never fails to entertain and surprise fans, has built its reputation as a must-see live act with numerous appearances at festivals. The members have also had a couple of successful national television performances on Late Show with David Letterman, which happens to be filmed in The Big Apple.
If you can make it to the show and want to prepare yourself for their unique brand of concerts, Trampled by Turtles has also recently released a CD/DVD combo Live at First Avenue to wet your appetite. And don’t forget the opening act! Hurray for the Riff Raff is going to bring some New Orleans’ blues into New York, and locals should look for a little Bronx flavor mixed in with the Louisiana soul. Lead singer Alynda Lee Segarra grew up in the borough, so it should be a nice little homecoming for her with a flock of folk tunes in tow.
