Skrillex Takeover Tour

Spiky-haired electro/dubstep DJ Skrillex has just announced plans to bring his show on the road for a brief tour, set to take place this February and March. The catch? During this tour, Skrillex will only play shows in four cities (two in the States and two in Europe): San Francisco, CA, (at Mezzanine, The Independent, and more), Brooklyn, NY, (at Brooklyn Bowl and Output, among others); Amsterdam, The Netherlands (at Melkweg, Studio 80, and more); and Barcelona, Spain (at Be Cool and Moog, to name two). Not near these cities? Don’t fret: Skrillex is sure to add more dates in 2014. Want tickets to “Bangarang” around? They go on sale on Friday, December 6, so scoop them up.

Sonny John Moore (yep, that is Skrillex’s real name) grew up in sunny California. He kicked off his music career not as a DJ but as a frontman for a series of pop-punk and screamo bands (who didn’t lead a screamo band in the early aughts, am I right?). After his DJ-dom, the 25 year-old Skrillex has won six Grammy Awards and covered Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know” issue. His latest album, Leaving, hit the shelves (and the charts) last January.
