Stars of Broadway’s ‘Titanic’ to Reunite at Avery Fisher Hall
Titanic Tour at Avery Fisher Hall
Attention, Broadway fans: a much-loved classic will be making its way back to the stage this February at New York’s Avery Fisher Hall. Original cast members Brian d’Arcy James, Victoria Clark, Michael Cerveris, David Garrison, and Martin Moran (among others) will perform the Tony Award-winning musical, Titanic, for one night only on February 17, 2014. What a night! The chorus of the show will be booming, featuring nearly 250 singers from across the country, and they’ll be accompanied by the New York City Chamber Orchestra. Tickets are on sale now, so get them while you can!
Titanic is set (obviously) on the doomed ocean liner RMS Titanic, which sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912. The musical featured music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, as well as a book by Peter Stone. It opened on April 23, 1997 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, running for 804 performances on Broadway (as well as 27 previews). The show achieved great success, later going on a series of national tours.
