Top 5 Tour Announcements of the Week
This week, our favorite tours come back for another go-round, plus U2 concert rumors are realized. Here’s who we’re most excited to see hit the road.
U2 Joshua Tree Tour
Just as we speculated last week, U2 will indeed hit the road for a Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour. From May to August, catch the rockers throughout North America and Europe, including a headlining slot at Bonnaroo. The fun begins on May 12 in Vancouver, BC. Click here for tickets.
The Shins Spring Tour
In support of their new album, Heartworms, The Shins will hit the road for a spring jaunt, starting on March 2 in their hometown of Albuquerque, NM, at the El Rey Theatre. The tour currently consists of a Phoenix stop, some California dates, and then a small stint overseas. They’re also on the lineup at this year’s High Water Festival in North Carolina. Billy Joel In Concert Tour
In addition to his permanent residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, the iconic Billy Joel has announced a summer tour. Billy Joel In Concert kicks off on April 28 at Atlanta’s SunTrust Park, followed by stops in Los Angeles, NYC, Cleveland, Chicago and Boston. The final show will be held at the Citizens Bank Park in Philly. Click here for tickets.
Green Day Revolution Radio Summer Tour
Green Day is hitting the road again in support of their latest album, Revolution Road. The band has just announced a slew of 2017 summer tour dates, kicking off on August 1 in Auburn, WA, and wrapping up on September 13 in Chula Vista, CA. In between, catching them throughout the Midwest, East Coast and South. They’ll be joined by special guests Catfish and the Bottlemen. Click here for tickets.
Explosions in the Sky North American Tour
In support of their highly-acclaimed newish album, The Wilderness, Explosions in the Sky have announced another round of tour dates. The 2017 trek runs from February to April, from Honolulu to Japan to Georgia to Rhode Island. The tour wraps up on April 29 at The Criterion in Oklahoma City, OK. Click here for tickets.
