Top 5 Tour Announcements of the Week
This week, two metal bands team up for a “killer” tour, and two comedians prepare to spread their funny across the globe. Plus, indie darling Maggie Rogers makes her live debut. Here’s who we’re most excited to see hit the road.
Anthrax + Killswitch Engage ‘Killthrax’ Tour
With both bands having dropped new albums this year, it seems fitting that Anthrax and Killswitch Engage would announce a joint tour for 2017. Dubbed the Killthrax Tour, catch these two mega-popular metal bands on the road next spring, kicking off on March 29 in Montclair, NJ, at the Welmont Theatre. Click here for more info.
Maggie Rogers Spring Tour
Singer, songwriter and student, Maggie Rogers, went viral earlier this year when a clip of her with Pharrell Williams at an NYU master class went viral. Several months later and she’s got an EP ready to drop along with some headlining tour dates. The spring debut begins on March 20 in San Diego at The Irenic, followed by stops through the Pacific Northwest, Midwest and East Coast. Click here for more info.
Chris D’Elia Australian Tour
Australian comedy fans will be pleased to hear that Chris D’Elia (of Whitney and Undateable fame) has just announced a batch of shows down unda’. From April 18 to the 22nd, the comedian will set up shop at the Athenaeum Theatre located in Melbourne, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Click here for more info.
Sleigh Bells European/US Tour
In support of their newest album, Jessica, (the band’s first since 2013), rockers Sleigh Bells will hit the road for a European/US tour. The duo will kick things off in February with a short stint overseas before spending the month of March through North America. You can also catch them at this year’s Okeechobee Fest on March 4. Mike Birbiglia ‘Working it Out’ Tour
Prolific comedian Mike Birbiglia has just announced a winter trek. Dubbed the Working it Out Tour, see the writer and funnyman in various cities during January, February and March, beginning on January 6 with a two-night stint in Albany, NY, at Funny Bone Comedy Club. Also on the docket is stops in Connecticut, North Carolina and California. Click here for more info.
