Love, loss, sing-alongs and plain ol’ good times – those are the core characteristics that make country music so appealing to its fans. They’re often lyrics that tell a clear story about the biggest moment in life or those simple days when you can shed your worries and just have fun. More often than not, the songs played most on country radio and topping the charts will represent one or more of those sentiments in the songs. It’s what keeps people coming back for more in their cars and at their nearest concert venue day after day, year after year.

Country music may not not seem, to some, like something that’s all that complicated, but the top country songs and videos take just as much work as their pop and rock counterparts. Darius Rucker Back On Top

One of the more popular country records of 2013 is “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker. It is another example of Rucker paying homage to the work of Bob Dylan; while Dylan never finished a full song in this manner, his sketch of the song had been released on bootlegs in the 70s before the verses and full arrangement was finished by the Old Crow Medicine Show about a decade ago.

Florida Georgia Line a New Landmark for Country Music

The only artists with two records on the top ten country charts are the guys of Florida Georgia Line, with “Cruise” and “Get Your Shine On” from their debut album “Here’s to the Good Times”. When your freshman and sophomore singles are setting the bar this time, your likely to be one of the biggest country music concert draws of the summer
