Town Mountain Tour

Five-piece bluegrass outfit Town Mountain have announced dates for a 2013 tour. The shows will see the band throughout the South and East Coast, and kicked off last week at The Isis Music Hall in their hometown of Asheville, NC. The folk rockers will also head to Framingham, MA, on February 15, to play a slot at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival, as well as make their way to Greer, SC, for another festy performance at Spring Skunk Music Festival. The tour wraps up on June 8, when they’ll perform at the Festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, KY. Joining them on the road for varying dates are The Foghorn Stringband and Brad Folk & The Bluegrass Playboys.

Town Mountain might be one of the most successful bluegrass bands that you’ve never heard of. Since their formation in 2005, they’ve released four albums (all very well-recieved in the bluegrass community), plus have earned themselves a win at the prestigious Rockygrass competition. The current album, Leave the Bottle, was released last September, and debuted at No. 4 on the Bluegrass Today Radio Charts. Not surprising, seeing as they recorded the album in Music City itself – Nashville, and it was produced by Grammy award-winner Mike Bub (of the Del McCoury Band).
