Nineties country radio mainstay Trace Adkins still has plenty of gas left in the tank. The reliable hit-maker just announced an outing for 2020, dubbed The Way I Wanna Go tour.

The 27-date trek starts in Pennsylvania on April 15 and carries him all the way to Antelope Valley, CA in late August. After starting his run with a show at Lancaster’s American Music Theatre, he’ll cross the US and Canada at a leisurely pace. Adkins makes time for stops in Wheeling, West Virginia at the Capitol Music Hall and Maquoketa, Iowa at the Jackson County Fair. Following the close of the tour, Adkins has two more 2020 dates in September and November. He’ll play the Oklahoma State fair and the country music cruise Country Cruising before the year is out.

In a press release, Adkins marveled at the way his hits have held on in the public imagination:

“I’ll be onstage singing “Every Light in the House Is On,” and I look down at the crowd and realize that person right there wasn’t even alive when I recorded that song,” he said. “It’s pretty special.”
