Treefort Music Fest Back in Idaho for its Second Year
Treefort Music Fest, a four-day indie and alternative rock extravaganza, is taking Boise, ID, by storm for the second year in a row. The festival is held at various venues throughout downtown Boise, and has an emphasis on emerging music, grass roots DIY efforts (they’re free of corporate sponsorship), and contemporary art. It began as a mini-tour that catered to bands traveling from the South By Southwest Festival to the Northwest, and is considered an up-and-coming SXSW. This year, the festy will take place over March 21 – 24, and their official website has just released two rounds of lineups.
On the docket for the Treefort Music Festival so far is Animal Collective, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Youth Lagoon, UMO, Foxygen, and Dan Deacon (to see the complete lineup thus far, check below). Last year, the event featured eight stages (including free all-ages venues) and 10 hours of music. Besides live music, the event includes performance art, disabled and modern dance, and seminars on the music business and social media. Oh, and lots of local beers for your enjoyment. Tickets for the festival are on sale now!
