Trey Anastasio, the front man of the immensely popular jam band Phish, announced that he will launch a new tour backed by an orchestra in 2012.

This is not the first time Anastasio has been backed by an orchestra. In the past, he has shared the Carnegie Hall stage with the New York Philharmonic.

The Winter Symphony Tour will feature Anastasio performing both Phish songs and songs from his own solo career with an orchestra in each city. Scott Dunn, the associate conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, will conduct the shows in the four cities that Anastasio will be visiting.
