tUnE-yArDs Adds More Dates to Year-Long Tour
Experimental outfit tUnE-yArDs released a new album, Nikki Nack, on May 6, and she’s been touring all year long promoting it, playing shows at festivals like Sasquatch! Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, and Forecastle Music Festival. Now, she’s just added a crop of new dates in Europe and the United States. She’ll start off with a set at Austin City Limits on October 3 in Austin, TX; and then continue through St. Louis, MO; Louisville, KY; Mexico City, MX (for the Corona Capital Festival); Atlanta, GA; Carrboro, NC; Charlottesville, VA; Pontiac, MI; Milwaukee, WI; and Las Vegas, NV for the Life is Beautiful Festival on October 24. TuNe-yArDs will then head back off to Europe to end out the year. For more information on ticketing and any other tour date announcements, visit the artist’s website.
tUnE-yArDs is the experimental music project of Merrill Garbus. The music is known for its improvisational drum looping, ukulele, electric base, and unconventional vocals. Though Garbus usually works with only bassist Nate Brenner, on her last tour, she added a saxophone section for a whole new sound in her music. On tour, she’s opened for bands such as Arcade Fire.
