The Unicorns Officially Reunite, Hitting the Road with Arcade Fire
Indie rock legends the Unicorns have confirmed that they’re getting back together nearly a decade after they broke up, and will be opening for Arcade Fire on a handful of dates this August. The first shows will be on August 1 and 2 at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, followed up a three-night stint at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn from August 22 to August 24. It’s unclear if the band will play any more shows together or release any new material after that, so fans should be sure to try and catch these performances now.
Formed by Nick “Neil” Diamonds (real name Nicholas Thorburn), Alden Ginger (Adlen Penner), and J’aime Tambeu (Jamie Thompson) in Montreal, The Unicorns were indie rock lightening in a bottle in the early 2000s. Their only real major release, Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’re Gone, scored across the board critical acclaim and legions of fans, and the intensive tour schedule that followed likely led the group to split. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again, but we would love a follow-up album.
