Warpaint Brushes on U.S. Dates to Tour
Badass lady band Warpaint have had a crazy summer this year, chock full of festival appearances (with stops at Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, Reading Music Festival, and Leeds Music Festival planned, among others) and a tour with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. They’re having so much fun that they’ve decided to continue their solo tour into October with some U.S. dates. These new dates start October 2 in Denver, CO at the Gothic Theatre. Next, they’ll visit Milwaukee, WI; Montreal, QC; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY (at Webster Hall); Silver Spring, MD; New Orleans, LA; and Dallas, TX before heading back over the pond for European shows through the winter. Tickets for these new tour dates go on sale Friday, July 11.
Formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2004, Warpaint is currently comprised of Emily Kokal, Theresa Wayman, Jenny Lee Lindberg, and Stella Mozgawa. Fun fact: the band has had major musical support since their start—their debut EP, 2008’s Exquisite Corpse, was mixed and mastered by Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist (and rock god) John Frusciante. In December of 2010, it was announced that the BBC had nominated Warpaint for the Sound of 2011 poll (pop singer Jessie J was voted the winner).
