Who is Post Malone? | Getting to Know the Viral Sensation
What’s the Deal With This Post Malone Guy Anyway?
Although it may seem like Post Malone’s overnight success is just a passing Millennial phase, this 22-year-old creative chameleon has a lot more to him than meets the eye. Born in Syracuse, NY but raised in Dallas, TX, Austin Post grew up heavily into fashion, gaming and guitar playing. After failing out of community college, he followed his friends to Los Angeles where he began creating music and putting it online.
Post made his Sound Cloud debut in 2015 when he uploaded his seminal “White Iverson” track, which went viral overnight. The instant popularity of the song snowballed into a recording contract, collaborations with Kanye West and 50 Cent, and an opening slot on Justin Bieber’s Purpose tour. The rest is, well, very recent history.
Post released his first full-length LP, Stoney, in December 2016. He’s currently on tour promoting said material, with shows scheduled through October 31. Check below for his full show schedule, discography and our picks for favorite Post Malone songs.
