Willamette Country Music Festival 2013
Dates have been announced for the sixth annual Willamette Country Music Festival, with the trusty toe-tappin’ event slated for this coming August 16-18. Although not quite as large as several other country-themed festivals coming to a Southern town (possibly) near you, the Willamette Country Music Festival nonetheless boasts a lineup sure to please anyone with a 10-gallon hat and pair of Daisy Dukes: Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, the Eli Young Band, and Darius Rucker are all among this year’s featured acts.

Although – or because – the Brownsville, OR, gathering is geared toward fostering an atmosphere of relaxed enjoyment, there are certain things its organizers won’t abide by. According to the festival’s website, for example, no one is allowed to “be a jerk,” but rather, should “act like your mom and grandma can see what you’re doing.” That means no “obnoxious” alcohol consumption, and anyone indulging in his or her “adult habits” (defined here as smoking cigarettes) needs to limit these activities to the designated fairground areas. Sounds fair enough for a family affair.
