Woodstock co-creator Michael Lang is one step closer to resurrecting the seminal music festival for its 50th anniversary.

According to a recent interview he gave to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Lang is in discussions with potential partners and scouting possible locations for the event which would be held in 2019. He is also exploring the idea of an overseas edition in conjunction with the American celebration.

Lang would also like to continue the festival as an annual celebration: “With the prevalence of festivals out there, and all the excitement about them, maybe it’s time for that.”

This is the second time we’ve heard from Lang regarding his desires to bring back Woodstock. The first was in 2014, when he talked to Rolling Stone in this interview.
