2014 X Games Music Festival Brings Yeezy, Pretty Lights to Austin
X Games Music Festival 2014
As if Kanye West didn’t have enough to do, he’s just been tapped as the headliner for the 2014 Summer X Games Festival, taking place June 5 to June 8 at the Circuit of the Americas Amphitheater in Austin, TX. He’ll play a 75-minute set at the event, but he’s not the only artist worth seeing: joining him at the festival will be The Flaming Lips, Pretty Lights, Gary Clark, Jr., Mac Miller, Slightly Stoopid, Bad Religion, Dillon Francis, Mayer Hawthorne and more. Tickets for the event are fairly inexpensive for the number of quality acts, with single-day tickets ranging from $39 to $59 on the primary market. Entry is included with a general admission ticket to the X Games themselves, or you can purchase tickets for the festival if you don’t feel the need for speed (they’re on sale now).
The X Games have always been a groundbreaking event, so it’s no surprise they’ve added a ton of cool music to the mix. Broadcast first on ESPN in the summer of 1995, the competition frequently features the newest and brightest of tricks in the sport. Tony Hawk landed one of his first 900s in skateboarding at the event, and Heath Frisby did the first-ever snowmobile front-flip in front of millions of viewers.
