The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been silent for most of the decade, but a new interview with Karen O has fans geeking over the idea that the band might be coming back in the near future.

“All I can say is that I feel ready to make some music,” she told Australia’s Double J. “It feels like time to have something new out there.”

The word from Karen O, plus the confirmed festival dates the band is playing, have kicked up a bit of excitement within the Yeah Yeah Yeahs fanbase. The frontwoman seemingly knew the weight her words carried, as she explained in the interview that nothing is set in stone. She said the band has not gone in spitting distance of a studio, and no plans to record have been made. For fans who have waited on new music from the band since 2013, they’ll take any sign of life and run with it.

Folks who don’t want to wait for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to record can catch the band at several festival dates. They are playing Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival and Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
