Jam band extraordinaire Yonder Mountain String Band has confirmed their spring tour dates. Though only for three weeks, the band will make a lot of stops throughout the Midwest and West, starting on March 24 in Jackson, WY, at Pink Garter Theatre. Next, Yonder Mountain String Band will visit Missoula, MT; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Eugene, OR; Arcata, CA; Park City, UT; Reno, NV; Oakland, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Manhattan, KS (at Wareham Opera House); Dallas, TX; Tulsa, OK (at Cain’s Ballroom); Fayetteville, AR; Lincoln, NE; and Springfield, MO. The last stop of the tour will be at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, on April 17. Special guests for this quick jaunt around the country include Allie Kral and Jake Jolliff. Yonder Mountain String Band (aka YMSB) was formed by banjoist Dave Johnston and mandolinist Jeff Austin when the two were at Harvard University. Based now in Nederland, Colorado, the band has released five studio albums. The last, The Show, was released in 2009 and hit the top of the grass charts. The band maintains their own record label, Frog Pad Records.
