Indie rock band Young the Giant is already on their Mind Over Matter tour, promoting their most recent album of the same name. But that hasn’t stopped them from adding some tour dates with Kings of Leon to their already-full roster. Kicking off on July 31 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO, Young the Giant will make stops throughout the East, South and West Coast, with a final date on October 5 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, this time in Irvine, CA (the band’s hometown). As mentioned, they’ll be touring with Kings of Leon, with Kongos along for the ride. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 25.
Formed in Irvine, CA, in 2004, Young the Giant is made up of Sameer Gadhia, Jacob Tilley, Eric Cannata, Payam Doostzadeh, and Francoise Comtois. Originally known as The Jakes, the band was signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009 and released their eponymous debut album the year after. They’ve had three singles (their first three, to be exact) crack the top five of the U.S. alternative charts: “My Body,” “Cough Syrup,” and “It’s About Time.”
