The already-pretty-crowded country music ensemble Zac Brown Band has just announced that they’re adding an eighth member, and will be going on the road this summer. The “Great American Road Trip” tour starts on May 24 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE, then it’s on to Tampa, FL, where the gang will start a run through the sunshine state, onto Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio. Zac and the boys will kick things off on the East Coast with back-to-back shows at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, on June 19 and 20, making their way up to Boston before jetting out to Milwaukee to play Summerfest on July 3. Then it’s back east for a couple performances in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and on to shows in Indiana, California, Nevada, Canada, South Dakota, and Minnesota. They’ll close things out in Endicott, NY, on August 15.
Hailing from Georgia, the Zac Brown Band (Or ZBB for short) is an eight-piece band (counting the recent edition of bassist Matt Mangan) known for their mix of country, rock, bluegrass, and more. Their famed penchant for live shows and touring has earned them cred among county and jam band aficionados. Headed up by bandleader and frontman Brown (who’s also well-renowned for his entrepreneurship and philanthropy), the group has seen three of their five studio albums go platinum, put out ten number one country singles, and earned three Grammys.
